The goals of the Foundation are two-fold: First, to preserve the beauty of the Valley, and second, to assist organizations which strive to enhance the lives of valley residents.

In keeping with Mrs. Gibson's desire to forever maintain the striking beauty and sense of community connectedness of her adopted home, the Foundation seeks proposals from community organizations six times each year, offering grants of up to $2,000 to a wide variety of local causes.

Non-profit organizations from the Mount Washington Valley (Albany, Bartlett, Chatham, Conway, Eaton, Hart's Location, Jackson, and Madison) may request funds for worthwhile projects that address the two primary concerns of the Foundation - Cleaner and Greener and Land Conservation.
